Entrepreneur Spotlight – Using Politics To Your Advantage

Reading The Signs

We are midway through 2022. Dependant on your viewpoint and reflections of the last two years, and now that lockdowns and related restrictions have been removed,  you may be hoping that we have come through a ‘global pandemic’ and can now pick up the pieces of life with the intention of getting back to some sense of normality over time. 

If you were one of those who thought this was all about the money, mass surveillance and control, nothing which unfolded would have surprised you. You may have been observing this within the context of the World Economic Forum’s long held desire to perform a great global reset.

There were so many things that troubled me, particularly how critical thinking and debate were suppressed. No longer were the populace encouraged to think with an open and critical mind. We were told what to think. 

Dr Robert Malone and Dr Geert Van Bosche are two examples. Both are vaccine creators, not anti-vaxxers, yet they called for the immediate cessation of the experimental jabs pending further enquiry due to what their research uncovered. Significant suppression of the natural immune system was one of the findings.

They were ignored and vilified. This was a big indication of a nefarious agenda, because the nature of truth is that it always welcomes debate and enquiry. It does not hide. 

Incompetence or Beyond?

So what is the political weather forecast looking like today? What have we learned from the last two years?  Did the government act well in the interest of health?  Was error,  incompetence or corruption at play?  Is the war really about one country against another or is it something else?

It is difficult to make the case for incompetence when the same patterns of behavior keep repeating. For example, the CDC has just confirmed that they did not take into account VAERS [Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System] in their analysis! 

As I write this article many papers and conversations have been declassified over in the USA, and the process continues. It seems that history is repeating itself in certain ways.

In 2019 a tabletop simulation exercise around the release of a respiratory virus resulted in the ‘CV-19 pandemic’. In March 2021 a tabletop simulation exercise revolved around the monkeypox, and now we have the alleged occurrence of the monkeypox virus. [see page 8]

At the same time the BBC got caught out again resurrecting old photos of monkeypox and overlaying them in the main news, as if they were current. They also did this for the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

That is the same BBC that was found guilty in court many years ago of misrepresenting certain facts, by reporting the collapse of the World Trade Center building 7, more than 20 minutes before it collapsed. Video evidence was produced by Tony Rooke. The video has been removed from YouTube.

CNN were caught on camera in an underground initiative by Project Veritas, acknowledging the deliberate exaggeration of covid case numbers as part of a fear and propaganda strategy to get more viewers, not to mention their paymasters. 

They added that the next target for fear and propaganda would be climate change. Yet the government and media project disinformation onto those who question them. It was just another example underlying that the media are not into independent journalism.

There is a report out directing that all UK airports should shut within 10 years, and the rationale given is climate change with none other than Neil Ferguson’s name popping up again.

True to form, in the UK Easyjet is canceling around 10,000 flights across the summer, Gatwick are canceling flights, and we are in the middle of major train strikes countrywide.

Several countries have triggered more emergency measures, among them are Italy, Australia, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands. Ecuador has recently declared a state of emergency, as the indigenous people rise in protest.

I would suggest that the real war seems to be the Global Elite versus We The People, rather than one country versus another. I would further suggest that it goes deep to the heart and soul of sentient beings, the war to stop you thinking for yourself, living from the heart in service to mankind.

Its roots go back a long way, and that is an article for another day. For now, how do you as individuals and entrepreneurs proceed moving forward? Let’s explore this.

The Opportunity  

In a world where deception, destruction and coercion have become rife, I believe there is always opportunity in times of challenge and adversity,  to turn things around for the benefit of mankind. In doing so it can turn what appears to be a very rough storm into a perfect storm.

I would invite you to view current reality as a mirror and use it to mirror or reflect back the opposite of all that is not good being played out. I share some examples from my experience of what that might look like. Add or edit it for your situation.

Replace Blame With Responsibility

It's so easy to get stuck in blame mode, and while it may feel justified, what is more  important is to take responsibility in how you move forward with what you know. Focus on the solutions that you can be a part of.

Be A Force For Good | Innovate 

Instead of recycling the destructive forces at play out there, reflect peace and honor for what you believe. Show love and care in the way you go about your business, so that social distance can be replaced with heart and soul connection.

If ever there was a time to innovate or bring radical change, it is now, and it needs brave and present entrepreneurs to do so, in order to build on different values. There are some great examples of this already going on, which you can be a part of.

Markethive of course, is one such example, creating an ecosystem for the entrepreneur that is safe and honoring of free speech, while combining a social network with an inbound marketing platform for you to develop and hone your marketing skills in business.

One Small Town is another example of a global movement to put new structures in place that are based on values of sharing, kindness and compassion, designed to make these nefarious structures obsolete.

The opportunity is there to become part of the solution, rather than waiting to be rescued. If innovation feels like a bridge too far, bring it back home to something more simple. Evaluate yourself and your business to see where you can reflect the changes you wish to see in the world.

Be Honest and Transparent

Where have you given your power away and compromised against your better judgment? Have you buried your head in the sand out of fear? Are there mistakes which need correcting?

Be willing to look with honesty at yourself and acknowledge where you may have fallen short of your own standards in business, and resolve to raise your game. Forgive yourself and resolve to be a better version of yourself.

Rebuild Trust

Trust toward government and businesses across were already hitting new lows before 2020 as indicated by the Edelman Trust Barometer Report in 2017. I wonder what the results would be today.

The advent of the blockchain will help to restore trust and transparency but on its own it is not enough. Learn to build trust again, not just in your abilities and expertise, but also in all your professional relationships, including how you conduct yourself in the process of business.

Look after Your Health

Health has been shoved in our faces in a ‘one size fits all’ manner. If your health is vulnerable right now, down tools and take the time to nurture it and strengthen your natural immune  system. It does not have to cost money. 

Learn to breathe slowly and deeply to oxygenate your system. Walk and be with nature,  expose yourself to some natural vitamin D. Keep yourself well hydrated. Dehydration is a common cause of fatigue.

Health is more than just the physical stuff. Learn to take inventory of your mind and emotions. Take time to feed your mind so it can support your health. I recently read Emile Coue’s book ‘Self Mastery Through Conscious Autosuggestion’. 

It is a simple and powerful read, especially when you apply it. Affirm that which you  wish to be true but learn to embody those positive affirmations in practice for them to take root and shape your life.

Evaluate Your Business

Be willing to take a step back and evaluate where you are in life and business, especially if you suffered losses in business. What have you achieved that you can be grateful for in spite of your losses?

If you need a structure for evaluation there are tools like a PESTLE. This looks at the Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal and Financial factors which influence business.

Put one foot in front of the other with your action plan. It's better to do a few things well than a lot of things superficially. Restore depth of thinking and quality to become more  accomplished.

Informed Consent

Replace coercion with empowerment through informed consent. Where your products and services are concerned make sure you walk your prospects through the plus and minuses of what you have to offer.

Allow yourselves and others their freedom of thought and expression. Let others know they can speak freely in your presence without fear. Then they can make an informed decision, and determine if it is ‘the glove that fits the hand’ rather than to be subjected to an aggressive marketing campaign with no substance, with forced solutions thrust upon them.

Show Courage and Develop Inner Strength

Do not give into fear. Believe in your gifts and abilities, and dare to keep expressing them, no matter what. There is nothing to be gained by living below the level of what you are capable of. Mankind needs to be raised up by your gifts and abilities, not kept down.

These are some of the many things I have been cultivating further in response to what is going on in the world. It doesn’t necessarily need 7 billion people to bring about a massive change. It starts with you.

Even if a small percentage focuses on the change outlined above, we can restore our planet from a warring planet to a more peaceful and prosperous one. Instead of cowering in the face of global adversity we can use what we see to mirror the opposite and allow it to cause us to rise. It is time for the rise of the entrepreneur.

If not you, who?  If not now, when?

That is a narrative which we can create and a script that we can write.

On 1 July 2022, the Czech Republic will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Its task will be coordinating Member States' actions and seeking acceptable compromises.

 

Each presidency formulates its own priorities, which it then submits to both the EU Council and the European Parliament. Priorities should reflect not only legislative developments at the European level but also current developments. In addition, the Czech Republic will cooperate with France, which chairs the council in the first half of 2022, and with Sweden, whose presidency will follow the Czech One.

The Czech Republic will preside over the Council of the European Union from 1st July to 31st December 2022. The six-month Czech Presidency follows France, which led the Council in the first half of the year, followed by the Swedish Presidency from 1 January till 30 June 2023. Those three states together form the presidency trio and have created a joint program of their presidencies.

 

During its presidency, the Czech Republic will focus on five closely linked priority areas:

 

  1.   Managing the refugee crisis and Ukraine's post-war recovery
  2.   Energy security
  3.   Strengthening Europe's defense capabilities and cyberspace security
  4.   Strategic resilience of the European economy
  5.   Resilience of democratic institutions

Expenditures on the Czech presidency from 1st July to 31st December 2022  

amount to 2.25 billion Czech crowns = 98 million dollars.

The Czech Presidency team has prepared several cultural and accompanying events for the period of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council. The events will take place not only in Prague but also in other places in the Czech Republic. Many of the events will be held in the very heart of the European Union, in Brussels, and other European cities. 

In addition to the official cultural and accompanying program, multiple other events have received the auspices of the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and the Minister for European Affairs.

However, most presidency events will occur outside Czechia, in Brussels, Strasbourg, and Luxembourg. It will be mainly the so-called Council of Ministers. A number of conferences or informal meetings will take place in the Czech Republic.

 

The war in Ukraine is forcing the community to reconsider existing plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, known as the Green Deal. The Czechia will have to catch up with the key Fit for 55 packages to fulfill the Green Agreement's goals, but under new conditions, when liberation from Russian fossil fuels has become an important goal of the EU.

This primarily addresses the issue of coordinating the storage of raw materials, including sufficient stocks before the winter season and their purchase, and strengthening the infrastructure for the transportation of oil and gas from alternative suppliers. The issue of natural gas, in particular, is very sensitive, as many countries were going to use it during the transitional period.

On the one hand, there is talk of the need to speed up the transition to renewables, but on the other hand, the originally expected date of leaving coal is now being questioned in some countries. A big topic today is also energy savings and a shift away from Russian raw materials.

Moreover, the so-called taxonomy, i.e., the question of including different energy sources among green investments, remains unresolved. Members of the European parliament are trying to reverse the intention to label nuclear and gas in this way. At the same time, Czechia was one of the countries that lobbied to label these sources as green. Energy prices and household aid are also likely to remain a major issue across Europe.

 

Strategic Resilience of the European Economy

The coronavirus pandemic has already shown that Europe's high dependence on raw materials and key components from Asia can be a major problem at a time when supply chains are nearly collapsing or production in countries of origin is being disrupted. 

The war in Ukraine added to the lesson that food self-sufficiency is paramount even in a globalized world. Agricultural resilience is also an essential issue regarding climate change and extreme weather, including drought.

 

 

As far as energy is concerned, the REPowerEU program and its rapid implementation will be crucial for the presidency. Prague sees the program as an appropriate instrument for the effective diversification of energy sources, as it addresses issues related to logistics, energy savings, and low-emission and renewable energy sources.

The EU cannot be vitally dependent on countries that directly threaten its security and must therefore break its dependence on Russian gas, oil, and coal. The Czech presidency will focus on EU energy security issues, which are currently more urgent than the energy transition.

The Czech presidency also expressed its readiness to work on the implementation of the gas storage regulations. Priority will be given to stocking up before winter and promoting voluntary joint purchases to increase the EU's bargaining power.

The Czech Republic will also focus on the pressing issue of the social impact of the energy crisis. It will work to put in place an appropriate mix of instruments to reduce the negative social and economic impacts of high energy prices and the energy transition.

Journalists from influential Brussels and European media are beginning to notice that the Czech prime minister does not exactly make public appearances in the EU, leaving them to guess what to expect from the Czech Republic even during the presidency.

The politician risks that his country's position will be misunderstood, which in turn can affect how the Czech Republic is written about elsewhere in Europe. It is the presidency that highlights all this.

Diplomacy, like EU politics, in which things are rarely said "in full," is a world cup of small hints and signals – and make no mistake –  small or big endorsements. The question is whether Fiala is ready for this.

According to sources, the list of messages from the prime minister's proximity, Fiala's inconspicuousness abroad is supposed to be partly deliberate. Given the difficult economic situation at home, the prime minister and his advisers seem concerned that overemphasizing activities abroad might be more likely to enrage people. However, Czech prime minister Petr Fiala is also known on the European stage for trying to maintain his typical temperance and discipline.

The professor of political science, who was initially tasked mainly to carry out the falling Civic democratic party (ODS) by opposition flights, is waiting in a few days – when he stands alongside the union's "president" Charles Michel at the head of the union – to be transformed into one of the real leaders of the west.

But the presidency of the EU is also a bit of political theatre. The leader of the presidency hosts other political leaders at the summit, does not avoid large press conferences alongside EU leaders at summits where there can be a lot at stake and will be "chased" by journalists from all corners of Europe asking for an interview.

 

As a professor of political science, prime minister Petr Fiala is a champion of long and many-word phrases. A few days ago, he announced he would give a "speech to the nation" on Czech television.

Some citizens hoped they would finally learn about some crucial decision, how the government intends to help ordinary people in an awkward economic situation. But during the fifteen-minute speech, nothing like that sounded. Even non-alternative, official commentators are very critical of his "fundamental" speech.

It does not have much meaning to have high expectations from the Czech Presidency of the EU. So far, the Czech government does not vigorously and consistently defend its citizens' interests and acts as a part of mainstream Europe. More than half a year when the government has been in power is not such a short time.

In today's rapidly evolving times, however, this government has not yet solved any major problem that the inhabitants suffer from. We will see how it leads the EU.

       *    Initial redirect – canonical (www.example.com vs example.com)

  • SSL – secure pages redirect
  • Redirect to mobile version
  • Content driven redirects

Content-Driven Redirects

  1. Problem

          Content-driven redirects are not required to display a page. These redirects have been added because mobile and                   desktop versions of a given webpage may not display the same content.Thus, some mobile pages are redirected to                 other locations.

          Bottom-line: Content-driven redirects are more of a design issue rather than a technical issue.

       b. Solution

         The use of content-driven redirects should be avoided if possible.The solution here is to utilize responsive web design.            This will ensure that both website versions (mobile and desktop versions) display the same content with no need for a              content-driven redirect.

  1. Problem

            When you have a different web address (url) for your mobile pages than you do for your desktop pages, the mobile                 device must somehow get to the mobile version. The way it does so is through a redirect.

           In other words, the mobile redirect is the method in which your mobile page gets displayed.This redirect only occurs                when a different url is utilized for mobile devices versus the desktop version. This redirect does not happen when a                  responsive web design is employed.

 

       b. Solution

         As previously mentioned, a mobile redirect only occurs when a different url is utilized for mobile devices versus the                  desktop version.

         Using responsive web design or dynamic serving will remedy this issue by eliminating the need for separate urls for the          same website (i.e., mobile v. desktop version).

SSL-Secure Pages Redirect

  1. Problem

               Pages that use SSL will often be redirected from the url

              "http://www.example.com" to the secure version of that page at "https://www.example.com"

              This redirect usually occurs when a webmaster uses a site-wide 301 redirect as a simple step to forward all pages to               the secure versions of the page.

       b. Solution

              A redirect exists for SSL sites typically because the webmaster used an "easy fix" of doing a site-wide 301 redirect to               make all traffic forwarded to the secure version of their pages.

             A better option would be to use HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) which forces all traffic to use secure pages.                  This means your pages will be more secure and load faster by not using that 301 redirect.

Initial Redirect (Canonical)

 

  1. Problem

Example: The url "www.example.com" and the url "example.com" are actually two different urls even though they typically will have the same content.

One has the "www" and one does not. Oftentimes webmasters will choose one or the other throughout their site (www or no www).To ensure that pages are always using the same version of the url, a site-wide redirect is typically used.

Thus, when typing "google.com" into a browser, the end-result is "www.google.com".

  1. Solution

This type of redirect was typically implemented for SEO purposes.The common logic was to obtain credit for each link given to a page because some people link to the "www" version and some link to the non-version of a page.

As a webmaster, one must decide if this value even still exists and if so, is it worth the redirect?

Google understands pages and sites much better now than it did when this redirect became a common practice and Google even offers you a way via Webmaster Tools to choose which version you prefer (without the redirect).

Take Home Points:

*Regardless, make sure your site-wide redirects are smartly working with other redirects like ssl.

*Do not redirect users to one version of page just to be redirected again to the secure (ssl) version.

*The way to actually review / update / remove it for most webmasters is to go to their htaccess file and find it:

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=301,NC]

OK, Healthcare Entrepreneurs…Your Turn.  Let’s Resuscitate Your Professional Portfolio

In this era of inbound marketing, we are constantly discussing the importance of making sure that the traits and characteristics that are associated with our personal lives are congruent with those that define our professional lives.   Many would refer to this as our “brand,” or that ‘intersection’ of values, traits, & characteristics that are prevalent in both our personal and professional worlds.  

For most, it should be easy to determine another person’s character within a specific period of time of interacting with them.  Having this information combined with a decent understanding of that person’s professional background, would serve as a good starting point for understanding that individual’s brand.

As healthcare professionals, many of us are guilty of what many may call outbound marketing strategies.  When we are applying for jobs or looking to advance our careers, we tend to update our CVs and then jump right into the “applying process” but then we forget to do all the other important things that matter.  These include having a completed LinkedIn profile with updated professional photo and publishing articles (or blogs) that further explain who we are & what we do. 

More specifically, we should consider:

*Establishing ourselves with our potential customer base (i.e., patients, hospitals/healthcare facilities, etc) by making sure we can be easily found online

*Making sure our online professional profiles (think LinkedIn) are congruent with who we are and what our mission (or company’s mission may be (i.e., branding).

*Making sure we have a current, professional photograph that clearly shows our face

*Ensuring that our certifications/credentials are highlighted and current

* Publishing blogs (articles) about our product(s) and how it relates to our potential customer base (i.e., areas of healthcare we practice, our target patient population, what services we offer, etc)

In summary, we must take the time to make ourselves more visible.  Gone are the days when patients and healthcare facilities would solely depend on our state’s medical board or sites like Healthgrades to conduct their due diligence.

They want to be able to do a quick Google search and find us along with our current professional photo, our certifications/qualifications, areas of practice, beliefs, etc so that they can make better choices as informed consumers and stakeholders in healthcare. 

Remember that healthcare, like many other sectors, is rapidly changing and will continue to become more like a “big business.”  This means familiarizing ourselves with inbound marketing strategies while ensuring that our online professional portfolio remains current.

Ultimately, the assumption is that we will build a loyal customer base (i.e., patients/healthcare facility/etc) and if our product (or services) is really great, then they will keep coming back for more and they will tell their friends, colleagues, etc about it. 

Because we took the time to establish credibility and online authority through implementation of the above, we will have accomplished two things:  

  1. positive word-of-mouth references from former patients/employers/healthcare facilities, etc (more subjective); and
  2.  a legitimate online “place” for those who do not yet know who we are (or our business) to easily find us to verify the information (more objective).
